Dear Peter,

Happy Valentine’s Day Eve!

I was never really a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, until I met you. 

I never had any reason to get excited and I was afraid that if I did get my hopes up, they would just be squished. So I learned to ignore the pink holiday and pretend like it didn’t matter to me. 

And while part of me still holds on to that idea and rolls my eyes at the huge production each year, being your girlfriend has also made me look forward to this day. 

Last year it was a special day for us, an anniversary of sorts, and so I think it will always be special to me now. And I love that it’s a day focused on love because I definitely love you.
